I believe I've reached the point when I'm not even looking forward to Games of Thrones episodes. I feels like a duty, and then I look forward to the discussion; but I actually stopped the last episode twice while watching from boredom and cringing. The OOCness is out of the wazoo. At least, the Tywin & Arya show, if wildly OCC, is very entertaining. And the Cersei & Sansa scene were slightly good. Wish I could say the same of the (finally!) Sandor/Sansa scene. And I guess Ygritte is sassy, yay?

Not gonna comment on the Jaime thing because it pisses me off.

Hee! Yeah, I have been ranting about that all day. Yes, Jaime has no problem killing innocents; but no, Jaime doesn't calculatingly manipulate them beforehand.

the whole scene is wrong. And Jaime likes being hero worshipped too, so I don't think he'd do that to that guy. No to mention, wasn't he kin? Jaime killing a Lannister related? Yeah, no.

well, it obviously set the plot point of Jaime killing a Karstark, thus getting their hatred; and suddenly increases the tension while Catelyn is in charge so that it'll make the decision to release him less her fault. And more screen time for the actor. Typical of the sort of things this series has been doing (badly).

Yes--but the book worked fine without it. I had to wonder if the "more screen time for the actor" was the point.

I think the reason I still watch is that I do like the way some of the characters embody the ones in the book--Arya and Tryion, and Ygritte. And I do like the changes in Shae. But Kate and Theon and Littlefinger are travesties. And Cersei...
